Disneyland: Annual Candlelight Procession

Every first weekend of December Disneyland hosts a Candlelight Procession Event on Main Street. Think of it as a candlelight parade followed by a musical Christmas show. It only happens for two days out of the year (Dec 3rd and 4th this year) so you can expect huge crowds on these days plus a bit of congestion on Main Street.

California Adventure: Luigi's Tires - Testing Phase

The vehicles for the new Luigi's Tires attraction at California Adventure are now in the testing phase. I just hope the tires can move a bit faster than they are shown here.

Other Parks: Transformers - The Ride Sneak Peek

Universal Studios Hollywood  will have to wait to open their Transformers Ride until next summer, but Universal Studios Singapore is set to open theirs in December.

Disneyland: A Look Inside the Matterhorn

For the Matterhorn's 50th anniversary the OC Register published an article with an artist's rendering of the interior of the mountain. Disneyland's PR team generally does not allow backstage photos so this detailed graphic gives us a rare glimpse of the upper 1/3 of the Matterhorn Mountain. You may notice that there's a basketball court in there - surprised? There's an official video that will let you take a peak inside. You can watch it below or HERE

Tip of the Week: Fastpass for the Disneyland Main Entrance?

Not exactly - When exiting the tram from the parking structure and heading towards the main Disneyland entrance, the majority of guests will clump together at the first couple of gates. While a Fastpass doesn't actually exist for the main gate there is a way to get into the park a lot quicker - don't follow the sheep! The gates on the far right of the Disneyland entrance will typically have much shorter lines because people inevitably don't walk that far across. What's even better is that the gate on the farthest right will open in the evening to accommodate the flurry of guests leaving California Adventure to head over to Disneyland. Less time in line at the Disneyland gate means you'll be enjoying that Dole Whip that much sooner.

So the video game Disneyland Adventures for the Xbox 360 Kinect has been released. I have yet to buy it since my birthday is coming up... hint hint :)

California Adventure: Cars Land in the Dark

Immense progress has been happening at Cars Land. The rock work is almost done, car vehicles have been seen late at night whizzing around the track, the final theme elements are being added to the buildings of Radiator Springs, and now they are starting to test the lighting on the mountain range.

Disneyland Resort: Cameron takes a tour of the Disneyland Resort

Walt Disney Imagineering gave James Cameron (Avatar) the VIP treatment when he visited the Disneyland Resort last week.

With his Avatar attraction coming to the Animal Kingdom, Imagineering thought it would be a good idea to show him what they are capable of delivering and give him some ideas on what is possible when working with the Imagineering team.

Disneyland: Mermaids coming to the Caribbean?

Now this is ONLY A RUMOR, but word is that the Mermaids from the Pirates 4 On Stranger Tides movie will make an appearance when the Pirates of  the Caribbean attraction re-opens later this month.

Check out this POTC sign that has been there for years. Yep it has Mermaids on it.
